St. Barth Cata Cup was born in 1992 on the momentum of a few sailing enthusiasts.
Very quickly the event has grown.
In 1994, the third edition has already thirty crews from neighboring islands.
Headlining, there was Randy Smith, Carlton Tucker, Enrique Figueroa and Claude Thiellier. The 1995 edition had been swept away by Hurricane Luis, putting everyone's concerns to other priorities.
Today, the association ST BARTH MULTIHULL conjunction with CLUB NAUTIQUE DE SAINT BARTH affiliated with the FFV relaunch the project and wants to keep the concept of a race to be first and foremost a gathering of enthusiasts of the sea where the atmosphere will too good to land on the sea.
St. Barth for intimate, is an island of 24km2 (approximately 3.5km long and 7.5km wide) in the shape of "V". It is located in the northern hemisphere by 17 ° 55 longitude and 62 ° 55 latitude in the Lesser Antilles.

It only took three editions for the St Barth Cata Cup to become one of the greatest "rendez-vous" of the circuit Formula 18.
Launched in 2008 with 14 crew, the tropical raid quickly found its audience.
A high-level public - one or more world champions in each edition - and amateurs who would not miss for anything this competition ...
And so successful that for two editions, we are forced to go through a quota ...
Not more than 50 enrolled.
Last year, the quota was filled in just 48 hours!
