With its Carré d'Or shopping complex and little boutiques lining the backstreets, Gustavia is certainly the hub for shopping on the island, although there is also a good cluster of boutiques at Villa Créole in St. Jean.
Everything from perfumes to liquor and designer duds are duty-free on the island.
That means you might save some bucks—still, prices aren't what you might call cheap.
Also, mind the quirky hours: Stores generally close between noon and 2 pm on weekdays and after noon on weekends; many close completely for the off-season
